TIMOTHY (Lane Cove)
Guitar Bass Ukulele Piano Originally from Toowoomba, QLD, Tim started learning piano as a child, which informed a love for all things music. As a teenager, he began writing and performing music. After completing a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Music) at the University of Southern Queensland, Tim set his focus on recording and producing a solo E.P. (See Us, 2020). Tim is continuing to build a skillset as a musician and producer through study in a Masters of Music Production, as well as working with up and coming artists.
STEFAN (Neutral Bay)
Guitar Bass Ukulele Vocal Since the age of 12, Stefan has been focusing and developing his guitar playing skills. After over 4 years of gigging experience with his own band and his own original songs, he is looking to incorporate his knowledge onto the next generation of musicians. With a great understanding of teaching the fundamentals of guitar and a multitude of experience in coaching and tutoring kids - including music and sports - Stefan is prepared to ignite the never-ending passion for music that once captivated him too.
BILL (Neutral Bay)
Guitar Bass Ukulele Bill has been professionally teaching guitar for the past 20 years, covering many different styles of music including folk, rock, blues, classical and jazz. He has studied under the instruction of many different guitar teachers including Steve McKenna, Ike Isaacs and Graham Cox and in the past has attended a number of different Jazz clinics at the Sydney Conservatorium of music. Bill has also played with a number of bands over the years and was once part of the band that later went on to become Ice House. He has also performed in a jazz group playing regularly at various restaurants in North Sydney.
SARAH (Lavender Bay)
Piano Sarah Thompson is a Sydney based Composer and Pianist, Completed her Bachelor of Music study at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Sarah started studies in piano at age 5, and has completed up to AMEB Grade 7 in piano. She has been tutoring in Sydney’s Northern Beaches since 2013, as well as offering guidance in music theory and HSC composition. Sarah has experience performing classical, jazz, contemporary and experimental music, and is currently a pianist in Sydney new music ensemble SPIRAL.
TOM (Pymble)
Guitar Bass Ukulele Tom passionately aims to inspire his students to enjoy developing their knowledge, understanding and performance of music. He will work together with the student in structuring tailored one-to-one lessons to achieve their musical goals whatever they maybe. He has a range on international teaching, performance and recording experience. He is reliable, professional available to enthusiastically teach students ranging in abilities from beginner to advanced focusing on a range of contemporary styles on electric and acoustic guitar.
GARTH (Gladesville)
Guitar Garth likes to play Acoustic, Classical & Rock and he mixes it up with a bit of Hip Hop. He will show his students the fundamentals of jamming so that students can create their own style in the Music World.
GREG (Chatswood)
Guitar Bass Ukulele Piano Drums Greg has 16 years of experience as a Multi-instrument tutor of : guitars (acoustic, electric, bass) / piano & keyboards / ukulele / drums & percussion. He also has 40 years experience working as a musician in the studio & live performances. He is qualified as an Audio Recording Mixing Engineer with 40 years experience in the studio & live. He toured extensively over 30 years as a musician or engineer to : New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan & Australia.
LEE (St Ives)
Drums Lee is a professional drummer with many years experience teaching and performing around the world. He's a qualified musician as well holding a Masters Degree in Applied Psychology where he delveds further into his speciality – teaching all ages with ADHD to play the drums and to use the drums as a means to manage their attentiveness. Lessons cover everything from technique and theory, to stylistic awareness and composition. He makes use of a specialised curriculum devised during his studies which is aimed solely at his students with ADHD, and if implemented correctly could result in a fun and enjoyable way to help manage ADHD. Each lesson is approached on a case by case scenario, adapted to suit the needs of the student.
MATTHEW (Freshwater)
Guitar Bass Ukulele Matthew is an experienced music educator with a Bachelor degree in Contemporary Music and a Graduate Diploma of Education. He has taught guitar for more than 25 years to students at Tokyo International School, Primary schools, NSW TAFE and as a private tutor. Matthew has toured Australia, Japan, Europe and New Zealand as a guitarist and electronic musician in many bands and has played with some of Australia's finest musicians. He has released several acclaimed albums in various genres and performs at festivals, weddings, breweries and wineries.
DAVE (Seaforth)
Guitar Bass Ukulele Having been introduced to music by his Piano teaching Mum, David’s formative years saw him play Violin in a number of Youth Orchestras before finding a special connection with the Guitar at the Grand old age of 12. A student of The Midland Guitar School (Birmingham UK – The Birth Place of Heavy Metal!), David played in a number of local rock bands before going on to obtain a First Class Honours Degree in Electronic Music at Keele University, performing his Final Year recital on Guitar. David’s professional life has seen him working in TV & Audio engineering around the world whilst continuing to Write, Perform & Record on the Guitar. His completion of the Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT.org) ALCM, LLCM & FLCM Diploma qualifications in Electric Guitar has further developed his understanding of the instrument with respect to both performance & teaching.
LUCA (Manly)
Guitar Bass Luca has been playing guitar for the last 20 years in different bands ranging from Rock to Pop, to Samba, to Classical, to Jazz. He has been studying music for the last 15 years, mainly learning electric guitar, but also acoustic and nylon guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, piano, percussions and many other musically relevant skills. Starting studying at an adult age allowed him to experiment the best ways to quickly learn theoretical concepts. He could then apply these ideas in teaching guitar for the last 10 years to all ages, focusing on fun practice to explain many useful notions. His idea of teaching has three main roots to play in as many bands, gigs and concerts as possible; to constantly be a student himself to keep learn bits of every other instrument.
LUKE (Dee Why)
Guitar Bass Drums Piano Vocal Luke is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter hailing from Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Having performed around Sydney since the age of 16, he is well and truly a consummate performer and a well known face amongst his locals. He draws influence from a vast pool of legends, both old and new, including Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Jimi Hendrix and Tame Impala. Performances and influences culminate in a genre-bending mix of folk, blues, psychedelia with rock sensibilities. This melting pot of musical drawings combined with Luke’s own musical sensibility will be demonstrated through his debut EP - Simple Minds. The EP features Luke Hansen playing everything from guitars, bass, keyboards and his vocals. The polished studio recordings and his matured experience as a live performer suggest that it is only a matter of time until he enters everyone’s music radar.
JORDAN (Cromer)
Guitar Bass Ukulele Jordan is 26 years old, live in Sydney's Northern Beaches and he is very passionate about music. He studied Bachelor’s Degree of Music at Australian Institute of Music. He's been playing guitar for over 15 years and he has picked up a lot of other skills as well, including bass, ukulele, and vocals. He's very easy going, a good listener, and very attentive to the individual needs of his students. So, let's have a jam!
JENNY (Dee Why)
Piano Jenny is a dedicated and passionate piano teacher who has been playing piano for over 15 years. She has completed her diploma for Associate of Music Australia (AmusA) and received honours for Grade 7 and Grade 8 piano. She also ranked first in her year for Music 2 and Extension in the HSC; her experience in performing will be an asset in aiding students to meet the requirements of piano exams and performances. With experience in teaching primary school students she is able to motivate and inspire students to do their very best within a nurturing environment. Each lesson is personalised to cater to the level and style of each student.
TIM (Fairlight)
Guitar Bass Ukulele Tim has been playing guitar for roughly 15 years and the bass and drums for 8 years. He has been apart of a range of music groups (and playing gigs around Sydney) such as rock bands, guitar ensembles, church bands and even make his own music on the side as a hobby. While he's passionate about rock, funk, folk, hip hop, RΒB and soul - He really is working towards finding out what makes his students excited and facilitating a way they can learn their favourite songs from their favourite artists. He believes that is the best way to learn! He prides himself on being a diverse musician and being capable of teaching a wide variety of guitar styles.
DANIEL (Frenchs Forest)
Guitar Bass Daniel began his music journey by beginning to teach himself piano. He started learning guitar in Year 5 and quickly found himself playing guitar at every school assembly & mass. He's never out the guitar down since. He decided to compliment his guitar playing with some formal bass guitar training and is still taking lessons to this day. He has experience playing in many bands including big bands, jazz ensembles and liturgical bands. He's currently studying to become a high school music teacher, and look forward to sharing his love for learning and teaching music and to inspire his students to keep learning and playing music with the same enjoyment that he has.
THOMAS (Beacon Hill)
Guitar Bass Ukulele Thomas picked up an electric guitar aged 13 and became self-taught playing for 3 years before receiving professional training to further his skills. He has been studying Bachelor of Music specialising in Contemporary Performance at JMC Academy Creative Industries. Thomas has performed as a special guest for a well-established Northern beaches band and brings with him the passion and dedication required to nurture the talent in his students.
GABRIELA (Marrickville)
Guitar Ukulele Vocal Piano Gabriela is a guitarist / jazz singer currently teaching in Sydney. She is currently studying Bachelor of Jazz Performance (voice) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and specialises in developing technique, confidence building, vocal health, improvisational skills and performance interpretation. She has been teaching for 3 years across a range of genres and also performs regularly at a variety of corporate events and original music gigs across Sydney.
STEPHEN (Dulwich Hill)
Vocal Piano Born and raised in Sydney, Stephen has held a love for music for as long as he can remember, something he is passionate about sharing and teaching his students. Having completed a Bachelor of Music at the Australian Institute of Music in 2016 Stephen specialises in vocals and songwriting with strengths in Soul, Folk, Blues, Rock & Jazz. As a vocal tutor he believes in the importance of a strong balance between good technique and development of expression. Stephens experience as a vocalist has seen him perform as a backing vocalist for artist such as Samantha Jade, Darren Percival and Paulini (Carols in The Domain, Studio Ten). As well as live television work on the latest season of The Voice (2018) performing with winner Sam Perry. Stephen aims to build his students confidence In their own abilities and help them find their own voice.
ROGER (Newtown)
Guitar Bass Ukulele Roger is a Sydney based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who has more than 15 years of experience playing bands across the state. Roger believes the exploratory nature of learning guitar is an incomparable experience that can foster a deeper love and understanding of music. Through learning the key tenets of playing music - rhythm, melody, timing and unison - from Roger, students will learn lessons they will carry across into growth in their academic, personal and social lives. You can catch Roger singing, playing guitar, bass or drums across the Inner West with a variety of bands performing everything from folk to punk music.
HILLARY (Hurstville)
Vocal Guitar Piano Violin Growing up in a musical household with a line of piano teachers going back 4 generations, it was no surprise that Hillary also took up the mantle. As well as Piano, Hillary has spent many years working and performing in choirs, musicals and concerts in Brisbane, the Northern Rivers and the Greater Hunter. Through this, Hillary has found to love the journey of learning. Being able to look back at how far you have come is so rewarding to anyone wanting to learn. Having studied under Lucy Bailes at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts (AMPA) in Surry Hills, as well as being an active member in the local Underwater Rugby Club (SYDUWR), Hillary is dedicated to supporting and developing their students love and passion for music.
PETER (Mascot)
Guitar Bass Peter began the Suzuki method of piano at the age of 4. He found his main instrument, the guitar, in early teens and learned the drums and singing. He also performed on bass guitar for the musical HMS Pinafore. At St Aloysius College Peter won the prize for music in his HSC year, before going onto a BMus at UNSW (Performance and Composition), which he graduated from in 2000. Peter topped his course in composition in his final year. He also completed the Steinberg Certificate for Cubase. Peter has played in rock bands and has performed in studio recordings and enjoys recording in his home studio, where he is currently recording demos for an album. Peter's expertise is in modern guitar performance techniques and has written a thesis on this at UNSW. He loves conveying his passion for music to students.
